Independent Living

Do I have to worry about maintenance in my apartment home?

No, our maintenance staff takes care of everything inside and out. They’ll even change a light bulb.

Does the monthly fee include meals?

Breakfast is complimentary for all independent living residents. Apartment and cottage residents also have 30 or 31 meals a month per person. The patio homes have access to a discounted meal program.

How close is the Health and Wellness Center to the apartment homes?

All apartment homes are connected to the Health and Wellness Center, so you’re just steps away from our indoor heated saltwater pool, fitness room with treadmills, reclining bikes and exercise machines, plus classrooms for aerobics, dance, yoga, Tai Chi and more.

What are the benefits of a Life Plan Community?

It puts you in control of your life. You can stay in one place among people you know for the rest of your life. If your health declines, you have lifelong access on campus to the care you need. Family members don’t have to worry about you, and you can enjoy greater peace of mind.

What is a Fee-for-Service Agreement?

Not all Life Plan Communities are the same. Some require large upfront fees to cover potential future health care costs. Rolling Green Village is a fee-for-service community, which means you pay only for the health care services you use. It also helps keep our entrance fee lower than other types of Life Plan Communities.

What happens if my spouse or partner needs a higher level of care, but I don’t?

You stay in your independent living residence, and your spouse moves into assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing, whichever is the most appropriate. You don’t need to move with your spouse, but you’ll both still be right on the same campus.

Do you offer In-Home Care?

Rolling Green Village Wellness 360° is our home assist program designed to help independent living residents extend and expand their independence.

Assisted Living

Are all rooms private in assisted living?

Yes, all rooms are private and include a kitchenette. Rooms can be decorated with personal items to make you feel right at home.

Are there social and recreational activities I can participate in?

Yes. We offer a full [calendar of activities], programs and events every month centered around eight dimensions of wellness. It’s a holistic approach to wellness personalized for each resident. The goal is to help residents live healthier and happier so they can continue to enjoy an active, independent lifestyle.

What if someone needs more care than assisted living can provide?

We offer skilled nursing and memory care in our Health Center, which has a 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Memory Care

Are all rooms private in the memory care neighborhood?

Yes, all rooms are private. Residents and their families are welcome to bring in furnishings and decorations that are beloved and familiar to the resident.

What safety measures are in place in memory care?

Resident rooms are equipped with an emergency call system. Staff is on duty 24/7 to monitor and assist residents at anytime, day or night. A secure courtyard also offers residents a safe place to enjoy the outdoors.

What activities are available for memory care residents?

Activities are scheduled according to each resident’s abilities. Generally, activities are designed to help people feel independent and to support their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

Skilled Nursing

What is skilled nursing?

Skilled nursing is for those who need longer-term care delivered around the clock by licensed professionals, including RNs, LPNs and CNAs.

Are all rooms private in skilled nursing?

Yes, all rooms are private. Residents and their families are welcome to bring in furnishings and decorations that are beloved and familiar to the resident.

What are the visiting hours for friends and family?

There are no set visiting hours at our Health Center neighborhoods. Friends and family are welcome anytime.

Are religious services held at the community?

There is a full-time chaplain at Rolling Green Village, and we offer nondenominational services.

Rehabilitation

What types of rehabilitation therapy are available at the Health Center?

We offer aquatic, physical, occupational and speech therapies. Aquatic therapy can help improve function, range of motion and strength, particularly for people with joint problems or those who find it difficult to exercise on land. Physical therapy can help improve mobility, balance, range of motion and strength. Occupational therapy helps people adapt to life changes and improve self-care skills such as bathing, dressing and eating. Speech therapy helps with communication, chewing and swallowing.

Are all rooms private for short-term rehabilitation stays?

Yes, all rooms in the rehabilitation neighborhood are private. Rehab residents have access to every service and amenity at our community, including an indoor heated saltwater pool, common areas and delicious dining.

General

Are pets allowed?

Yes, with strict supervision by their owners. Doggie stations are located throughout the campus.

How big is the Rolling Green Village campus?

Rolling Green Village is situated on 175 acres.

Who manages Rolling Green Village?

Rolling Green Village is managed by Life Care Services LLC®, of Des Moines, Iowa.

When did Rolling Green Village open?

Rolling Green Village opened in October 1986.

What is your financial track record?

Rolling Green Village has a strong financial track record and operates in the black. We’re a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.

Do you rent or sell?

Rolling Green Village patio homes are Fee Simple Ownership. The apartments and new cottages are 80% Return-of-Capital® Plan Agreement Entrance Fee.

What are the sizes and costs for an apartment or cottage with the Return-of-Capital Plan (ROC) 80%?

Apartments and cottages range from 450 sq. ft. to 1,700 sq. ft. Entrance fee is between $70,000 and $330,000. Monthly fee starts at $2,000/month. Second-person fee is $1008 month.

What are the sizes and costs for a patio home?

Patio homes range from 1,200 sq. ft. to 2,100 sq. ft. There is no entrance fee; you purchase the home. Prices range from $120K-$275K. The monthly fee is $508 per home. The HOA monthly fee is $250 – $350 per home. There is no second-person fee.

Do you have a membership fee?

There is a one time, non-refundable fee.  It is tax deductible.

Will your fee increase?

Yes. Because we’re a not-for-profit community, our fee increases must go back into operations. Historically, the annual increases range between 2 and 5 percent. They tend to reflect cost of living adjustments (COLA).
