It’s been a long, challenging 15 months since the first case of COVID-19 appeared in Washington state. Although we’re not out of the woods yet, the future looks much brighter today than it did just a few months ago. The vaccine rollout has helped. Staff were screened for the virus. Visits to the community were halted. Dining venues were shut down, and meals were delivered to residents’ doors. Classes moved online, to in-house TV channels, or outdoors when weather permitted. If residents needed groceries or a prescription filled, they could put in their order and staff members would get what they needed so residents didn’t have to risk going out themselves.
Throughout the stay-at-home period, staff members kept spirits high. Treats were delivered to residents’ doors to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. Joyful parades and musical performances could be viewed from residents’ balconies. A sense of community blossomed as residents did their part to keep neighbors safe.

When vaccines became available, Rolling Green Village residents were among the first to get them. They didn’t have to scramble to register for an appointment. Everything was arranged for them. All they had to do was roll up their sleeves.
Now that residents and staff have been vaccinated, we’re looking forward to group classes, dining together and socializing again. New health and safety protocols have also been put in place. Called EverSafe 360°™, this program includes:
